Emily is a CPA with over 15 years of experience in public accounting and with a Fortune 200 company. Emily loves using financial modeling and strategic planning to work with clients to develop tools to help them use their financial data to make decisions. Emily lives in Dayton, Ohio, with her husband and two boys. When Emily isn’t helping clients, she can be found hiking and running, bike riding and family time outdoors, or watching Ohio State Buckeye football.

Rachel Clark, Partner

Rachel has six years of experience in small business and accounting. She worked internationally and co-found a company that supports and instructs students with learning differences. Rachel is a graduate of Ohio State’s School of Business with a degree in Marketing, advanced educational schooling from Ashland University, and is a QuickBooks Pro Advisor. Rachel’s teaching background shines through in all she does, from helping our clients with process improvement and gaining efficiencies to developing our team. Rachel lives in Columbus, Ohio, with her husband and two boys. She spent five years living and working on Grand Cayman Island and enjoys traveling to new places, running, and hiking.

Lara Buros, Bookkeeper

Lara has worked in the non-profit field for over 15 years. She specializes in international community development work, focusing on projects that improve health and wellbeing, access to education, and empowering women of underserved populations. Lara believes that having a solid financial and accounting foundation is important for every organization and small business to have a positive impact on the world. Lara lives in San Clemente, California. She enjoys surfing, cooking, and camping. Lara also loves to travel and learn about different communities through sharing cups of coffee on front porches and swapping recipes with local families.

Mary Kate Kohlhas, Bookkeeper

Mary Kate is approaching her two-year anniversary with Sugarcreek Consulting. Prior to joining the team, Mary Kate spent 12 years working in education as a kindergarten and preschool teacher. She enjoys using her strong organizational skills and attention to detail to support Sugarcreek and our clients as they grow their businesses. Mary Kate recently moved back to the Dayton area from Detroit, Michigan. She lives in Waynesville, Ohio, with her husband and two girls, enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends.

Jamie McArdle, Accountant

Jamie joined Sugarcreek Consulting in 2021, strengthening our team in many aspects. She has experience with both non-profits and large corporations. Jamie is experienced with many different accounting platforms, specializing in QuickBooks. Jamie received her degree from Penn State and has completed QuickBooks and Excel training.

Jamie is originally from northeast Ohio and currently resides in Springboro, Ohio with her two children. She enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Kavin Miller, Accountant

Kavin has over 15 years of accounting experience working with small for profit and non-profit businesses as well as working with a Fortune 200 company for many years.  After graduating from Villanova University, Kavin’s accounting degree has taken her all over the world and she has worked on four different continents helping businesses streamline their accounting processes and stay up to date with all financial management reporting. 

Kavin is an Army Brat and has moved 24 times with the military and then with the private sector in her adult life.  Kavin currently lives in Irvine, California with her husband and two children.   She enjoys traveling, running her kids around and a nice quiet chair to read a good book.

Claire has over 12 years of experience working side-by-side with the accounting team in a Fortune 500 company.  In her time there, she supported the company’s operational and financial goals through regulatory strategy and financial planning and analysis.  She finds joy in creating effective financial tools, crafting solutions to both new and old challenges, and collaborating with skilled professionals.  Claire lives in Springboro, Ohio with her husband and three kids.  In her spare time, you will find her soaking up family time, taking a deep breath outdoors, and biting off more than she can chew with house renovation projects.
